J-20 Watch, Cont.

By Taylor Marvin

From the DEW Line, new video of a J-20 prototype on a low-level test run over Chengdu.

There’s two insights here:

  1. The J-20 is a big aircraft. This isn’t new information, but this video makes its large size impressively clear. With its 62 foot length and delta wing design the J-20 has the internal volume required for a large combat radius without external drop tanks, and the potential to carry a very heavy warload.
  2. PLAAF officials really don’t care about the effect on urban air quality of dumping toxic aviation fuel over a populated area.
